 John Clayton Meyer is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and record producer. Known for his guitar skills and artistic pursuit of stylish pop-rock songs, John has achieved great chart success in the United States and other countries.

Childhood & Early Life

• John Clayton Meyer was born on October 16, 1977 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA. He grew up in Fairfield. His father, Richard, was a high school principal, and his mother, Margaret Meyer, was a middle school English teacher. He has two brothers.
• In his freshman year, he enrolled in the Center for Global Studies at Bryn McMahon High School in Norwalk.
• He became fascinated by the guitar after watching the performance of Michael J. Fox in a movie. Then he fell in love with the Blues after hearing the music of Stevie Ray Vaughan.
• When he was 13 years old, his father rented a guitar for him. He began to take lessons, became so engrossed in it that his concerned parents took him to a psychologist, who declared him healthy.
